Phoebe Driscoll

Stage 1

Phoebe Driscoll

Kia ora! My name is Phoebe Driscoll.

I’m from Hawkes Bay and have just finished my final year boarding at King’s College in Auckland where I was Head Girl.

In 2026 I will be going to the University of Sydney to study a combination of Law, Economics and Sciences. Through my school years I learnt a lot about the value of empowering others. I believe in creating environments where everyone feels brave enough to be the best versions of themselves, regardless of expectations.

Sport has been a big part of my journey, particularly tennis and hockey. I have had the privilege of captaining both the King’s College First XI Hockey team and Premier Tennis team, have represented Hawkes Bay in both tennis and hockey, and most recently played hockey for Auckland, earning three national medals. Off the sports field, I love Debating. I was part of the King’s College Premier Advanced debating team and won Best Senior Debater in 2024. I have also attended the Yale Model United Nations Summit in Singapore where I was awarded the Outstanding delegate award representing the Economics and Financial Affairs Committee. I love to be busy. When I am not at school, playing sport or working, I love to run, do pilates, hang out with my friends and cook.

Growing up playing competitive sports, I have seen many girls drop out of sport in their teens. Girls drop out of sports for many reasons, but one of the reasons is caused by a lack of knowledge and education relating to period care, something that shouldn’t be a barrier. To help address  this issue, I founded Hello.Friend, a non-profit dedicated to ending period poverty through education and the donation of sustainable period care. It has been a whirlwind journey with Hello.Friend - from local advocacy to raising over $22,000 in donations to support students nationwide with sustainable products, and being named a finalist in the NZ Herald’s New Zealanders of the year. What a year it has been!

I am so excited to be able to be part of the Pinnacle program and to connect with a cohort of ambitious, like-minded and progressive young New Zealanders. I’m heading into Stage 1 ready to learn and ready to see how far we can push the boundaries of what’s possible for the next generation.
