Tēnā koutou, ko Ondre Hapuku-Lambert tōku ingoa. He uri ahau nō Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāti Porou, Tainui, nō Ngāti Raukawa hoki. I am a 20-year-old stage 2 Pinnacle Student. Hastings is my home, however, I am residing in Auckland for tertiary studies. I study Health Sciences (specialising in Māori and Pacifica Health) at the University of Auckland and aim to progress to a Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery later on.
“Tama tū tama ora” - “He who is active will be successful”
The whakataukī/proverb above is what inspires me to achieve my goals, which all stem from my passions: the environment, learning, and giving back. I actively apply myself to many opportunities to pursue my passions. As proof, I am involved with BLAKE NZ (Formerly known as the Sir Peter Blake Trust) due to my passion for the environment, have decided to continue studying after High School due to my passion for learning, and have taken on service roles such as being the Deputy Chair of the Hastings Youth Council and an Emergency Responder for The New Zealand Red Cross due to my passion for giving back.
Recently, I have:
- Completed Outward Bound as a Stage 2 Pinnacle Student.
- Completed an internship at the Hawke’s Bay District Health Board.
- Been awarded an Academic Excellence Scholarship at the University of Auckland.
- Become an Official Member of the Multiethnic Young Leaders New Zealand Network.
The Pinnacle Programme provides me with a fantastic platform to further develop myself and my passions - I am extremely grateful for this opportunity!
