Hi, my name is Mirabella Uphof and I am studying a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Auckland. In the future, I hope to specialise in Surgery and conduct and contribute to research in the medical field.
I have a passion for science and philosophy and understanding the world around me. At my high school, I was awarded DUX with a GPA of 100. I also received the University of Auckland's Top Achiever Scholarship, and various musical scholarships which I am very grateful for as they have helped to get me started towards my goals. My academics are very important to me and I intend to continue learning and studying to actively improve my knowledge across many fields.
Outside of my academics, I also love to cook and travel, and I enjoy running and being active. I actively perform and work in the music industry too, specialising in classical and jazz piano after classically training for 16 years. In 2022, I completed my Associate Trinity College London (ATCL) piano performance diploma and performed a solo piano recital in preparation for this exam. I have worked as Musical Director of the Panimals Steel Pan Band at Bream Bay College, and worked closely with the Opera North Society as a choir member and piano accompanist. Now, I work as an administration person for the Chrion Lewis Eady Foundation where I help to promote emerging artists in the music scene, and organise piano competitions to foster the music potential of young musicians.
I am excited to be a part of the Pinnacle programme as it is a real privilege to be surrounded by like-minded driven young individuals.
