Hi, I’m Lily Pearce, and it’s a privilege to be in Pinnacle Programme!
I am passionate about community involvement, service, leadership, and sport. I am proud to be a volunteer lifeguard at Mount Maunganui Lifeguard Service. 2022 marked my final year at Tauranga Girls’ College where I was selected as a Deputy Head Girl.
Another memorable part of 2022 was my experience as a Youth MP representing MP Jan Tinetti. I also wrapped up my second year on the New Zealand Secondary School Sports Student-Athlete Commission as the Co-Chair. My experience being a National champion in three different codes (Swimming, Surf Lifesaving, and Open water Swimming), and an Australian champion in Surf Lifesaving, gave me a great insight into the nature of sport and the benefit this can have on well-being.
I had the privilege to attend the Spirit of Adventure voyage through the Pinnacle Programme this year. Spending 10 days on a boat with strangers, was unlike anything else I had done before, and I’m grateful for the experiences and learnings I took away from it. 2023 marks the first year of my tertiary studies at the University of Waikato. I am studying for a Bachelor of Law/ Bachelor of Communications conjoint degree.
