Kia Ora everyone, my name is Bree McCowatt, I am twenty years old and am based on the Gold Coast of Australia. I have graduated from a fast-tracked degree in Exercise and Sport Science at Bond University.
I am currently a Stage one student in the Pinnacle Programme hoping to move on to Stage two. I care for the environment, the ocean and the creatures it holds and I enjoy exploring the outdoors . I enjoy travelling overseas and seeing different perspectives and ways of life in different countries. I am extremely passionate about sports and being competitive, especially in surf lifesaving, swimming and netball.
I had the opportunity to represent New Zealand in swimming at the World Championships, represent my region in netball and my club in surf lifesaving. I am continuing to train and hope to one day represent New Zealand again but in surf lifesaving.
I am extremely grateful to also be a part of the Tania Dalton Foundation Scholarship Alumni. It was a privilege to be a part of this scholarship to learn more about Tania's legacy and connect with more people like myself. I plan to continue paying it forward wherever I can just like Tania used to.
Thanks to the Pinnacle Programme for providing me with this scholarship to be able to complete stage one, I had the time of my life on Spirit of Adventure, and hopefully, continue onto Stage two to continue to grow as a person.
