Hi, my name is Samuel Wong and I am currently in a rising sophomore at Duke University in the United States, double majoring in Economics and Computer Science with a certificate in Markets and Management. I am very passionate about entrepreneurship and reducing inequalities through business.
Previously, I was the current acting CEO of Minerva Education, which is a kiwi company with more than 25 tutors that focuses on NCEA scholarship and IB tutoring at a fair price. Our goal is to help all Kiwi students and help democratise education for all students and are on track to achieving our goal.
I’m very passionate about economics and finance and have been passively investing in the stock market since Year 9. I have internship experience at lower middle market private equity firms, search funds, residential real estate and the National Football League, looking to enter high finance upon graduation.
I’m also very interested in politics and international relations, having served as the Chairperson on the Upper Harbour Youth Council for two years and been actively involved in volunteer work.
In my spare time, I like travelling, hiking, and am a big fan of both Formula 1 and the UFC. My eventual goal is to give back to the community through philanthropy and inspiring other entrepreneurs in New Zealand and across the globe.
