Hi, my name is Mirabella Uphof and I recently graduated high school at Bream Bay College and will be studying Biomedical Science for consideration into Bachelor of Medicine / Surgery at the University of Auckland next year.
I have a passion for science and philosophy and understanding the world around me. I would consider myself a deep thinker, and a very curious and creative person as I love to ask questions and observe situations. Recently at my school prizegiving, I was awarded DUX with a GPA of 100. I also received the University of Auckland's Top Achiever Scholarship, and various musical scholarships which I am very grateful for as they will help to get me started towards my goals. My academic work is a big part of my life and I intend to continue learning and studying to actively improve my knowledge in many fields.
Music is something I get very excited about. I actively perform and work in the music industry specializing in classical and jazz piano after classically training for 15 years. I recently completed my Associate Trinity College London (ATCL) piano performance diploma and performed a solo piano recital in preparation for this exam. I have been working as Musical Director of the Panimals Steel Pan Band at Bream Bay College which I have been involved in for 6 years, and have worked closely with the Opera North Society as a choir member and accompanist at many events over the last 5 years.
In the future, my goal is to be a Cardiothoracic Surgeon. After completing my training, I wish to move overseas to further expand my options. Working in the medical field and helping others is something I very much look forward to doing.
