Kia Ora, I'm Gabi and I am a current member of the New Zealand Football Ferns. I am a very passionate sportsperson but am also very passionate about environmental conservation and human rights.
I am currently studying in America at Arizona State University (ASU) and am a Junior (3rd year) majoring in Biological Sciences and Human Rights. I play on the ASU Sun Devils Women's Soccer team which I balance with my studies. I was originally majoring in Health Sciences but since living in America for the past couple of years, I have become extremely interested in educating myself on the human rights violations that have been occurring throughout the world. I think growing up in New Zealand gives most people an appreciation for the environment, and I am no exception to this. Learning about the importance and significance of our natural environment and how to preserve it is something I love to learn about and spread awareness on.
I have been fortunate enough to represent New Zealand playing football and have been a part of the Senior Football Ferns team since 2021, getting my debut at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics where I scored against Australia. Going forward, my short-term goals are to make the 2023 World Cup squad, graduate from college, and sign a professional contract in Europe.
