Kia Ora, my name is Angalla Carney. I am currently Year 11 at Iona College in Hawkes Bay.
I'm a very active person who craves competition and loves to be challenged. I'm a hard worker and constantly strive for academic excellence, sporting success and high achievement in performing arts.
In my last two seasons I have had National success in my two main sports, Rowing and Pole Vault. I have won four National titles and have medaled at various National and North Island competitions in both sports. In the future I aim to represent New Zealand in Rowing or Athletics (or maybe even both!)
I’m proud of my academic achievements to date having won two school academic scholarships. I have a particular interest in English and the Sciences.
I really enjoy performing and I take every opportunity that I can to be on stage. Recently I completed my grade 6 singing exam and am working towards grade 7. I have been involved in numerous shows and musicals over the years and was recently was cast in a lead role for our school production.
I feel so privileged to have been selected for stage one of the Pinnacle Programme and I’m really enjoying every aspect of it so far!
