My name is Kate Cregoe and I am a Graphic Designer and Illustrator based in Rural Whanganui. Growing up on a sheep and beef farm in Hawke’s Bay has meant that I’ve always had a love for nature and adventure. Through my life experiences to date, I’ve discovered that living rurally is where my creativity flows best and where I am happiest! This environment sparked my passion for creativity and ‘creative freedom’. Through being involved with the Pinnacle Programme I have realised that I want to utilise my creativity in a way that can create positive outcomes for people and the world.
My passion for creativity, adventure and the outdoors lead me to complete a Bachelor of Design (Visual Communication) with Honours, travelling abroad and a stint shepherding. After these experiences, I decided that I wanted to create a life that would honour my values, passions and sense of adventure! This is when I decided to start my own multidisciplinary Design and Illustration Studio. A space where I help small to medium-sized businesses with their Illustrative requirements, editorial design, brand strategy, identity, web design and print collateral.
Alongside my creative business, I also co-lease a deer farm for velvet production with my partner Grahame. A venture that was also sparked by my farming background and love of animals, horses and the Agricultural Industry.
The Pinnacle Programme has been paramount in giving me the confidence, mindset and self-belief I needed to pursue my dreams and begin my own business. I applied for the Pinnacle Programme back in High-School as I loved the idea of personal growth, development and doing it in a way that pursued adventure! I am so grateful to be a part of the programme as the people I have met and the opportunities I have experienced have been life-changing.
