Jacques Glover

My name is Jacques Glover and I was bought up in Tauranga, attending Otumoetai College. From Tauranga, I moved to Dunedin to complete a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, and I currently work at Waikato Hospital in the Oral and Maxillofacial department. Here I work with a team that provides acute and elective dental and maxillofacial services to the majority of the North Island.

Growing up in the Bay of Plenty taught me at a young age that I loved the outdoors, spending time in Youth Search and Rescue and Surf lifesaving. When I originally signed up to Pinnacle, I was enticed by the opportunity to spend as much time outdoors as possible, through the Spirit of Adventure and Outward Bound. But looking back, those are just two of the countless opportunities that being part of the Pinnacle Programme opens to you. Alongside those two incredible experiences, the Pinnacle Programme introduces you to fellow driven and impressive students, which creates an environment where you are encouraged to push yourself and dream big.

Whilst studying in Dunedin, we had regular meetings with local speakers, teaching us self-management, leadership and other skills which have proved infinitely useful throughout my personal and professional life. Alongside that, one-on-one sessions were invaluable in helping you realise your goals, looking at what you needed to do to achieve these and then putting together a plan to succeed. And finally, it is amazing to go through the Programme, and watch your cohort grow, succeed and become close friends.

Joining the Pinnacle Programme is a joining a family where everyone wants to see you succeed, and I can’t encourage anyone enough to apply.
