Kia ora! I’m Issie and I graduated from the Pinnacle Programme in 2021. Growing up in Dunedin I have always had a variety of interests, from science and technology to politics and the arts.
I am studying towards a Bachelor of Science double majoring in chemistry and economics at the University of Otago. In 2023 I will begin working as a management consultant, helping organisations across a range of industries to make strategic decisions in the face of numerous challenges. My dream is to someday combine my passion for STEM (science, technology, engineering, maths) and industry by founding my own start-up.
I am passionate about empowering other young kiwis, especially girls, to pursue study and careers within STEM and industry. At my all girls high school, I founded a coding and robotics club and more recently I have been involved in providing analysis and advice for a non-profit in the Dunedin community through the student organisation Ignite Consulting.
I am very proud to be a Pinnacle student. I believe that the programme's strongest component is the people, not only the wonderful mentors who are very keen to share their wisdom but especially the other Pinnacle students. The diversity is awesome, everyone has different passions and once you’re a Pinnacle student you’re part of a network of amazing young people who you can call on when you need advice or support.
